Galatians 1:16 - To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Wow, this really just hit me, so many times I go the way that sounds best to my flesh, in ways of sin and ways of peer pressure, I'm scared of what the other person will think of me for doing something to make my relationship with God better, and a computer game, or doing something for my flesh instead of doing something for the one who gave me a purpose.

Are you all out for God?

People that call themselves Christians, but live for themselves, want most at of both lives. You cant do that. You can only have one reward.

Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

This next verse goes along with Greg's sermon Sunday, About either living for yourself or living for God, how you cant be in between. This is a familiar verse, but is pretty clear.

Mathew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

You cannot be inbetween, and have the peace of God.

Serving, and glorifying Christ is what a christian is. So if you don't enjoy it, you've got trouble.

Proverbs 9:8

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

1: Your not supposed to correct a scorner (someone who bascically thinks your worthless, as well as what your saying), because he isn't going to listen to you, and he is just going to hate you more, he knows what he's doing is wrong, God has to change his heart.

2. Are you the scorner, or the wise man?

Jordan

Scorn means: Contempt or disdain felt toward a person or object considered despicable or unworthy.

Awareness

Be spiritually aware. In Madden, (A football game) you want to have good awareness. And want to build your attributes up. In our spiritual life you need to build up your awareness by sorting out where, and when, and who you are tempted by. Be aware of Satan's tactics.

Philippians 2

12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Go over Salvation ask yourself what it means to you. It should make you fear and tremble at the fact that you should be going to hell. That Christ shouldn't have done it for us. That because we are saved we should drive to help save others.

13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

If you do not will to do Gods good pleasure, God is not working in you. If you want to play computer games, over doing Gods will, God is not working in you.

Seaking eternal Rewards

Ephesians 6
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

Obeying your parents is a cammand of promise. God promises us that if we honour them(litterlly lifting them up for what they have done for you)God will reward us. Just as an olympian gets honoured for wining an event. Obey your parents, God doesnt ask us to, he cammands us to.

Sing To God

Ephesians
19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Never forget to sing and praise God for his plan to get us to heaven, let us constantly be thinking of the pain it took for salvation, lets not forget the fatherly love he shows us every day. Lets sing praises not necessarily out loud, but in our hearts.

Disobedient People

Sometimes I think I usually don't disobey. When my parents ask me to do something I do it... Forgetting all the times I disobey them by doing things they tell me not to. WE ARE SO DIOBEDIENT PEOPLE. We dont care what God says we purposfully do things we know that God hates. We are disrespectful to the parents God gave us. We hurt the ones that take care of us. We are so selfish! Disobedience comes from selfishness!

Bearing fruit

You know about the parable about the fruit tree and bearing fruit for Christ. People say live a good life so others can see a difference... but most people wont come up and ask you whats different they probably will think your just a good kid with strict parents unless you tell them your a Christian and tell them what Gods doing in your life and the Peace and Joy you get from serving Jesus

If you just live a good life they see the blossoms, and they know your a good tree. When you share your faith, you bear fruit and they know your a christian.

The tortoise and the hare and the tore

You probably know the tortoise and the hare story...where the tortoise and the hare are going to race. The hare gets way ahead and decides that since he's so far ahead, he will take a nap. The slow, but steady tortoise passes him, a couple hours later and continues on to the finish line. The hare wakes up and frantically runs to the finish line on;y to find that the tortoise is already there!

In your christian life, don't just walk along and stop here and there to take in the scenery! Don't run hard and then stop completely...that's even worse!

Run as hard as you can and don't stop!

Jordan

And by the way... The Tore is a word i made up! Its a cross between the tortoise and the hare.. =)

Job says in job 2:10 that we shouldn't only expect that God will always will give us what want but what we dont want to help us grow

Galatians 1:6

Galatians 1:6 I marvel, that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.

Paul marveled, at the Galatians that slid away from their decisions they made for God. Have you been keeping your decisions from camp? If not your just like the Galatians.

the next verse says which is not another though there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Some times someone we know will get us to go against our decisions. Choose friends that will help you not hurt you. Keep your decisions, this has eternal rewards!

Showers

God wants to give us showers of blessings, but we stay in the house of comfort and ease. No longer caring what God wants for our lives wherefore, we miss the blessings, instead we feel empty.
I have not been posting during the summer but now that im starting school again There will be more frequent posting

A Lesson from a STUBBORN Cow

Yesterday I was bringing the cows into a different field and this one cow was being very, very stubborn. So I came up with a scheme! I put his best cow friend in the other field and shut the gate...Sure enough! The stubborn cow came running; moo-ing about how he was so lonely!!! That brought me to the thought of how stubborn we are until we see what God can take away from us! Then we usually obey, because we see the power of God and what he can do to us in an instant when we're stubborn and try things our own way. It's never satisfying when we have to buck God in order to do what we want.

Trust God

So many times I try to get over a temptation on my self. Equip yourself with Gods word and trust God to get you through. Just like the Israelites. They had to equip themselves with the things that God told them to and trusted God to get them through, and they had victory, but when the didn't they were defeated.

Famine

In order to have plants grow you need not only the seed but sun and water, we can water with a hose but we cant bring out the sun. The world is having a famine and we need to go and water the crops with the word of God, and that's the farthest we can go. God has to bring out the sun and produce other Christians, BUT GOD WILL NOT WATER IT! WE HAVE TO. We have to fulfill our duties to bear fruit.

Temptations

In "Changed Into His Image" Jim Berg states that "Satan was an archangel once!" That's one step down from God himself! We have no power over Satan or our flesh! We have to commit our selves to God and God alone! 1Peter 5:7 Casting all your cares upon him for he careth for you. Sometimes I foolishly think I can get over it myself, I try to think of how much I regretted it last time, but I fail anyway since I fail to have the faith even the size of a mustard seed, I don't trust that God can get me through. Even after he died on the Cross for that very same sin.

Setting Appointments and listen

Last night, Gabe mentioned setting an appointment with God, and how we have to do what it takes to keep that appointment. My mind went back to when Mr Huber said, "That sometimes it is good to turn everything off and listen to God." Set an appointment for reading the Bible, praying, listening, and always meditate on our God!

Fallen Man

"Fallen man is not an imperfect creature who needs improvement. He is a rebel who must lay down his arms" - C.S. Lewis
Sometimes we think we just need to improve, we do need to improve but we have to learn to cast all our cares upon christ. We are to week to try to improve by ourselves, we need Christ's help!

The love and payment of God

While I was cutting grass the other day, I thought of the time that Josh broke his arm in a tree! Since then my Dad doesn't like us climbing trees :/ When I was younger I remember thinking, Why does my Dad care? Its not his arm. Now I know he cares for at least two reasons.
  1. He loves us and doesn't want us to get hurt
  2. He has to pay for the hospital bill.

Its the same way with our spiritual lives. Why does God care when we sin?

  1. He loves us, and doesn't want it to hurt us, as it will if we keep doing it.
  2. He had to pay the hospital bill with blood so we can go to heaven.

Get involved

I’m doing a study called changed into his image, by Jim Berg and he gives a challenge from Hebrews 5:11-14. "The apostle insists that we get involved in helping other hurting believers. If we don’t than we are self centered and proud which is sin" quotes Jim Berg. I’m not saying we should get involved to the point were others will pull us down or were we start arguments. Our job is to go to the person and say I know what your going through, and I advise you to stop, because I had to pay the consequences and it wasn’t fun
