Showers

God wants to give us showers of blessings, but we stay in the house of comfort and ease. No longer caring what God wants for our lives wherefore, we miss the blessings, instead we feel empty.
I have not been posting during the summer but now that im starting school again There will be more frequent posting

A Lesson from a STUBBORN Cow

Yesterday I was bringing the cows into a different field and this one cow was being very, very stubborn. So I came up with a scheme! I put his best cow friend in the other field and shut the gate...Sure enough! The stubborn cow came running; moo-ing about how he was so lonely!!! That brought me to the thought of how stubborn we are until we see what God can take away from us! Then we usually obey, because we see the power of God and what he can do to us in an instant when we're stubborn and try things our own way. It's never satisfying when we have to buck God in order to do what we want.

Trust God

So many times I try to get over a temptation on my self. Equip yourself with Gods word and trust God to get you through. Just like the Israelites. They had to equip themselves with the things that God told them to and trusted God to get them through, and they had victory, but when the didn't they were defeated.

Famine

In order to have plants grow you need not only the seed but sun and water, we can water with a hose but we cant bring out the sun. The world is having a famine and we need to go and water the crops with the word of God, and that's the farthest we can go. God has to bring out the sun and produce other Christians, BUT GOD WILL NOT WATER IT! WE HAVE TO. We have to fulfill our duties to bear fruit.

Temptations

In "Changed Into His Image" Jim Berg states that "Satan was an archangel once!" That's one step down from God himself! We have no power over Satan or our flesh! We have to commit our selves to God and God alone! 1Peter 5:7 Casting all your cares upon him for he careth for you. Sometimes I foolishly think I can get over it myself, I try to think of how much I regretted it last time, but I fail anyway since I fail to have the faith even the size of a mustard seed, I don't trust that God can get me through. Even after he died on the Cross for that very same sin.

Setting Appointments and listen

Last night, Gabe mentioned setting an appointment with God, and how we have to do what it takes to keep that appointment. My mind went back to when Mr Huber said, "That sometimes it is good to turn everything off and listen to God." Set an appointment for reading the Bible, praying, listening, and always meditate on our God!

Fallen Man

"Fallen man is not an imperfect creature who needs improvement. He is a rebel who must lay down his arms" - C.S. Lewis
Sometimes we think we just need to improve, we do need to improve but we have to learn to cast all our cares upon christ. We are to week to try to improve by ourselves, we need Christ's help!

The love and payment of God

While I was cutting grass the other day, I thought of the time that Josh broke his arm in a tree! Since then my Dad doesn't like us climbing trees :/ When I was younger I remember thinking, Why does my Dad care? Its not his arm. Now I know he cares for at least two reasons.
  1. He loves us and doesn't want us to get hurt
  2. He has to pay for the hospital bill.

Its the same way with our spiritual lives. Why does God care when we sin?

  1. He loves us, and doesn't want it to hurt us, as it will if we keep doing it.
  2. He had to pay the hospital bill with blood so we can go to heaven.

Get involved

I’m doing a study called changed into his image, by Jim Berg and he gives a challenge from Hebrews 5:11-14. "The apostle insists that we get involved in helping other hurting believers. If we don’t than we are self centered and proud which is sin" quotes Jim Berg. I’m not saying we should get involved to the point were others will pull us down or were we start arguments. Our job is to go to the person and say I know what your going through, and I advise you to stop, because I had to pay the consequences and it wasn’t fun
